About the Department of Political Science
The Department of Political Science at Shri Shankaracharya Professional University is committed to promoting academic excellence by developing competent scholars, ethical leaders, responsible citizens, policy professionals, administrators, and researchers through learner-centric education, research, innovation, and community engagement. In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), the department offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral programmes in Political Science with a curriculum that integrates theoretical knowledge, constitutional values, practical learning, public policy, governance, and contemporary political developments.
Through experiential learning, field visits, internships, parliamentary and legislative exposure, research projects, debates, seminars, workshops, model parliament, electoral literacy programmes, extension activities, and interaction with policymakers, administrators, legal experts, and civil society organizations, the department equips students with the knowledge, analytical ability, leadership skills, and professional competencies required to contribute effectively in governance, public administration, academia, diplomacy, law, public policy, and social development.
Supported by highly qualified faculty members, ICT-enabled classrooms, digital learning resources, and a vibrant research ecosystem, the department promotes critical thinking, constitutional morality, democratic values, policy analysis, leadership, communication skills, research aptitude, and ethical decision-making. Programme Outcomes (POs) – Bachelor of Arts (Political Science)
After successful completion of the programme, graduates will be able to:
