SSPU celebrates Teachers' Day with fervour, dignity
SHRI Shankaracharya Professional University (SSPU), Bhilai, celebrated Teachers' Day with great reverence and dignity, emphasising the integration of moral values, cultural ethics, and the Indian knowledge tradition into education.
During the event, students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to their faculty members by honoring them with traditional 'Shriphal' (coconuts), alongside vibrant cultural performances.
SSPU Chancellor IP Mishra addressing the gathering.
Addressing the gathering, SSPU Chancellor I.P. Mishra highlighted the significance of Teachers' Day, noting that a teacher is not merely an instructor of subjects, but a mentor who shapes student personality and provides life direction. He urged educators to combine modern knowledge with discipline, moral values, and human sensitivity, while instilling a strong sense of responsibility toward the nation and society.
Dr. Jaya Mishra, President of Shri Gangajali Education Society, underscored the sacred 'Guru-Shishya' tradition as a cornerstone of Indian culture, remarking that teachers leave an indelible mark on students through their conduct, thoughts, and deeds.
Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Smita Selot stated that true personality development occurs when education aligns with the Indian knowledge tradition. Registrar Dr. Vaibhav Tiwari also extended his greetings and acknowledged the pivotal role of faculty in nation-building. The ceremony witnessed the presence of key university figures, including Director of Development Dr. Sushil Chandra Tiwari and Deputy Registrar Dr. Vinay Peethambaram Upadhyay.
The event was conducted by Akanksha Sharma and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Govind Sharma.
