Teacher is a guide who shapes a students personality and gives the right direction to life IP Mishra
Message on Teachers' Day to adopt moral values and the Indian knowledge tradition
Teachers' Day was celebrated in a dignified atmosphere at Shri Shankaracharya Professional University, Bhilai. On this occasion, students honored their teachers by presenting them with 'Shriphal' (coconuts).
The event conveyed the message of imbibing moral values, culture, discipline, and the Indian knowledge tradition into life alongside education. Students also gave cultural performances.
Addressing the program, University Chancellor I.P. Mishra said that a teacher is not merely someone who imparts subject knowledge, but a guide who shapes a student's personality and gives the right direction to life. He said that along with knowledge, it is necessary to give space to moral values, culture, and human sensitivity in education.
Dr. Jaya Mishra, President of Shri Gangajali Education Society, called the 'Guru-Shishya' tradition an important heritage of Indian knowledge and culture, urging teachers to discharge their responsibilities with dedication and sensitivity.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Smita Selot stated that education rooted in the Indian knowledge tradition helps in the holistic personality development of students. She emphasized developing a spirit of curiosity, reflection, self-study, and continuous learning among students.
She added that the objective of education is not merely to gain employment, but also to prepare responsible, cultured, and sensitive citizens.
On this occasion, Registrar Dr. Vaibhav Tiwari also extended his Teachers' Day wishes to the faculty. The ceremony witnessed the presence of key university faculty, officers, staff, and students, including Director of Development Dr. Sushil Chandra Tiwari and Deputy Registrar Dr. Vinay Peethambaram Upadhyay. The event was conducted by Akanksha Sharma, while Dr. Govind Sharma expressed the vote of thanks.
